* For correct data evaluation, the following has to be taken into consideration: 1.- In effect,
the system does not provide the number of visitors but
the number of IP addresses that have "visited" our site.
This means
that the number of unique visitors, the number of visitors that
visited it once and the number of visitors that visted it more than
once is, as a matter of fact, always referring to the IP address that
generated them.
For example, the number of unique visitors is identical to the
number of unique IP that "visited" our site, while the number of
visitors
that visited it once is identical to the number of IP addresses that "
visited" it once.
2. Every Internet user browsing our site uses an IP address that the
systems identifies unequivocally.
3. One IP address is seldom used by only one user. Having in mind
that the number of existing IP addresses worldwide is much lower than
the number of visitors browsing millions of web sites, each IP address
can be used indeeed by an "n" number of visitors.
4. In fact,
the same IP address in general, dynamic or static, can be used in the following ways:
4.1. - Entirely or partially by the employees of the same company;
4.2. - By all users of the same wide area network (wan);
4.3.- By different users of the same provider.
Consequently, the number of visitors that really visited our site
is
impossible to be determined but it is surely much higher than the
number of IP addresses used to browse our site and were detected by
our system.
