Lares Research, founded in 1956 by brothers Joe and Al Lares developed their business with attention to detail and outstanding customer service.
Their skill and reputation for performing difficult micro-precision machining was leveraged into the Dental Industry and Lares Research has become the premier manufacturer of small headed highspeed turbines.
With the introduction of the 557 Turbo+, the first high powered, small headed turbine, a new segment of the dental turbine market began.
Continuing the family tradition under second-generation ownership, Lares Research continues to specialize in highspeed turbines that offer exceptional visibility and accessibility; it has since added three additional turbine models to meet virtually every tooth cutting need.

In 1997 Lares expanded its product offerings to include micro-air abrasion systems (the Producer) and the easily carried, lightweight, full powered pulsed free running Nd: YAG laser (PowerLase ST6) which supports patient friendly periodontal therapy. In 2003 Lares added the Apex, an Electric Handpiece System.
